NYATEP's Updated Legislative Priorities
Feb 10, 2025
Governor Hochul’s State of the State and Executive Budget underscores the evolving priorities that impact our statewide members and the broader workforce community. In response, we are updating our legislative priorities to reflect the continuing needs of those we serve; advocating for policies that strengthen workforce development and economic mobility.
We have added support for the $13 million supplemental state funding to hold local workforce boards harmless from reductions in federal WIOA allotment, as well as support for fully funding the $10 million investment in local assistance funding to establish apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs in high-demand fields.
As we navigate the ever evolving world of workforce, we remain committed to ensuring that resources, funding, and legislative action align with the pressing challenges and opportunities facing our members and the entire sector.
