NYATEP's Youth Practitioners Conference annually welcomes hundreds of workforce professionals working with young adults from across New York. This event is a unique opportunity to educate our colleagues from across the northeast about the latest research and best practices in assisting young adults, provide inspiration to the front-line staff helping our most vulnerable youth, and help programs from across the state network to collectively problem-solve. We hope you will join us for another year of dynamic presentations and engaging professional development!

Call for Presentations

We want to hear what you've been working on! If you support youth in both a virtual and in person climate, and have a successful project, please submit a proposal! Specifically, we are looking for innovation in:

  • Skill Development and Training (Techinical Skills, Digital Skills, Interpersonal Skills, etc)
  • Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship (Entrepreneurial Training, Job Placement Support, etc)
  • Career Pathways and Apprenticeships (Career Exploration, Registered Apprenticeships, Sector-Specific Programs, etc)
  • Equity, Inclusion, and Access (Targeted Support for Historically Excluded Groups, Geographic Inclusion, Transportation & Childcare Access, Employment for People with Disabilities, etc)
  • Policy and Industry Collaboration (Public-Private Partnerships, Youth Employment Policies, Future of Work Initiatives, etc)

If you or your colleagues have a great idea to share on any of these topics and would like to present at our annual conference, we invite you to submit your proposal to us!

A little bit about our workshop sessions:

  • Workshop sessions are 75 minutes long.
  • Workshop proposals MUST include a title and brief description in order to be considered. NYATEP reserves the right to modify the descriptions that will be printed in conference materials. 
  • We require that all submissions include an interactive element to the presentation to engage participants in each session. This may include, but is not limited to -- opportunities to share between colleagues in small group work or with discussion questions (breakout session); facilitated activities to help attendees understand the content; and or a presentation that solicits audience participation. In addition, if presenters want printed materials, they are responsible for bringing their own presentation copies.
  • We will provide a projector, AV cart, screen, and WIFI. Presenters must bring their own laptop, phone line, and video equipment. If you utilize a Mac computer, please bring appropriate cables. 
  • Any workshop materials (Powerpoint slides, handouts/worksheets, flyers, etc) that you may use for your workshop are due (via email to [email protected]) to the NYATEP office by Friday, February 28, 2025 at 4:00 PM. Your session materials will be posted to the conference website for attendee download.
  • Presenters are expected to register for the conference and are responsible for their travel expenses. Presenters attending any other sessions will pay the special Presenter Rate of $375. We ask that sessions have no more than three presenters.
